CPR/FIRST AID COURSES
Basic Life Support (BLS1)
This 4 hour course provides one year of certification in the prevention and initial care for cardiac emergencies; including Cariopulmonary Resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillation, Angina Pectoris, Stroke, & Foreign Body Airway Obstruction.
Free to IBEW/NECA members and up to two family members (ages 14 and over). Maximum class size is 30. Participants will receive Coyne CPR card valid for one year.
Basic Life Support Refresher (BLSR)
This 2 hour course provides one year of re-certification to apprentices with a current valid coin card and is given in the second semester of the school year.
Basic First Aid (BFA1)
This 4 hour course provides three years of certification in the prevention and inital care for emergency moving of injured patients, wounds/bleeding, traumatic shock, musculodkeletal injuries, burns, eye injuries, drowning, allergic emergency (anaphylaxis, asthma, fainting and diabetic emergencies, drug overdose, poisoning, seizures, temperature related problems, insect stings/bites, spider bites, venomous snake bites, dental injuries and suspension trauma.
Free to IBEW/NECA members and up to two family members (age 14 and over). Maximum class size is 30. Participants will receive Coyne First Aid card valid for three years.
Class Offerings
Classes are NO LONGER held every 1st Saturday of the month.
The JATC is in the process of changing CPR/First Aid requirements for current apprentices. CPR will be incorporated into 2nd semester classes beginning with the 2018/2019 school year. First Aid will be incorporated into 2nd semester classes for 3rd year apprentices beginning with the 2018/2019 school year.
CPR/First Aid may be scheduled other times throughout the year for pre-indentured apprentices and Journeyman. Please click here to check the calendar. Please call the office at (513) 281-6924 if you need a class and there are none scheduled.
