Related Classroom Training

Our curriculum was designed by the National JATC and is taught at JATC’s all over the country. Through an Articulation Agreement with Northwest State Community College, apprentices are awarded college credit for completion of our curriculum. Click on the Northwest State Credit Information page for more information.  

Apprentices are required to pay a yearly administration fee.  The current administration fee for each year (1-5) is $100.00. The administration fee is due before the start of each school year, usually around September 1st. The JATC provides books and any other materials necessary for classroom training. Apprentices must attend every class and maintain a minimum test average of 75%.

Classroom Standards

Related classroom training is held two nights per week, three hours each night with some Saturday classes involved. Classroom training generally runs September through May, for a minimum of 900 hours in five years. 

Classroom training is currently held at Diamond Oaks Career Campus. Apprentices must attend every class and maintain a minimum test average of 75%.

       Licenses, Certifications and Special Training Received:

·     CPR Certification-Years 1-5

·     First Aid Training—Year 1

·     OSHA 10 Hour Certification - Year 1

·     Ohio State Fire Alarm License—Year 5

 

Telecommunications Apprenticeship
Classroom Standards

Related classroom training is held one night per week, three hours each night with some Saturday classes involved. Classroom training generally runs September through May, for a minimum of 480 hours in three years. Classroom training is currently held at the JATC with some additional classes held at Gateway Technical and Community College in Northern Kentucky. 

        Licenses, Certifications and Special Training Received:

·     CPR Certification—Years 1-5

·     First Aid Training—Year 1

·     OSHA 10 Hour Certification—Year 1

·     BICSI I, II and Technician Certification—Years 1-3 respectively

·     Firestopping Certification—Year 2

·     Fiber Optic Certification—Year 3

Classroom Standards are governed by JATC Policy and subject to change as amendments are adopted.
